American persimmons grow 30 to 60 feet. They grows best in moist well drained sandy soils in full sun to partial shade, but will tolerate hot, dry conditions, poor soils, urban conditions, and wind. The female trees produce delicious fruit that is great for eating plain or used for cooking.
